Copper Daisy Ring

I have to share the cutest story ever.
I was asked by a shop called Radway in Cowichan Bay that carries my jewelry if I could mail a little copper ring to a customer who's girlfriend saw it a week before. They had been in the shop and they left without it. I did not know the story but promptly mailed the ring for him. He paid dearly for the shipping and handling costs so I decided to reduce the price of the ring for him. I received this e-mail from him and I asked his permission to print it on my blog, so here it is:

"We stood in their shop and stared at it for a few minutes, my friend Angela liked it but couldn't decide. It was one of those "I have enough jewelry already, I shouldn't get anything else"So off to the wine festival we went... She couldn't stop talking about the ring for the rest of the day, and I said, let's go back and get it. No she said, we don't have time...Then we are back in Victoria and she's still saying she wished she had bought the ring... a week later So then I figured I better find the name of the shop and see if the ring is still there...I'm glad it was !She will be so surprised !I'm thinking of getting down on one knee and, playing around with the, "I have something special for you baby"Just to see her reaction...May not be a good idea though as we have only been dating three months...Thanks so much Jeff"

Some of the best feedback I ever received,
Cheers Jeff.

In memory of...

I sold this piece today to a woman in Oklahoma. She wrote, " I have been looking for that special gift to give to my sister. I have terminal cancer and wanted to give her something special to remember me by. Looking forward to receiving this in the mail..."

I am honored and so deeply touched.

Spot Prawn Festival in Cowichan Bay

My first outdoor local show this year. The Spot Prawn Festival in Cowichan Bay. It rained all day but in spite of it 3000 people came from everywhere to visit and take part in the festivities. The music was good, the food was great and the company was fantastic. My manager ( my sister from another mother) made the day so much fun, she explained to everyone that all my jewelry was ' upcycled ' and had a little piece of history, she carefully explained that all the ear wires that I handcraft were made from sterling silver wire. She smiled, danced and made me laugh.

Thank you Steph xo

A sweet little lady gave me her vintage silver that were wedding gifts from a time long ago. Now, I have never met or seen her but what lady who lives in a cold place like Calgary doesn't own a favorite sweater or scarf that could be embellished with a vintage pin made with love from her

special collection of silver.

Thank you Vera,

Quilts and buttons

I sold 4 handcrafted heart shaped buttons to a lovely customer on Etsy. She took the time to send me a photo of her wonderful wall hanging that she encorporated cross stitch and quilting and embellished it with my copper buttons. How pretty.

Whisper

I had the privilege of working with Whisper's tail hair to create this horse hair bracelet. Whisper has now passed.
He was very special to my friend and I wanted to create a special piece to pay tribute to this beautiful animal. As I handled his hair I couldn't help but think of the bond that they must have shared and the emptiness that she must feel without him.
Hopefully when she wears this bracelet she can have some comfort and feel close to him.
Enjoy Lynn,

There is a fund raiser at our local firehall for a boy with cancer. I created this set for the silent auction.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my ' sister from another mother '.

This ring was made from sterling silver, vintage mixed metal, picasso jasper stone, energy, creativity, time and lots of love.

I love the little landscape in this picasso jasper that I couldn't resist. It's all about the sky and sea for this girl. I wanted to incorporate the vintage copper engraved metal and sterling silver which I feel compliments the shades in the cabachon.

A beautiful girl , a beautiful ring.

Happy birthday sweetie,

Daddy's little girl

My dad has always been a great fan of mine. He is always looking out for me. You are always their child no matter how old you are. I have always looked up to my dad and his creativity. I get my creativity, drive to succeed and stamina to work hard from him. He has always wanted to learn to silversmith and is so proud of me now that I am learning. He mailed me some of his brass rings that he sawed, filed, soldered, polished and set intricate wood cabochons that he also made himself. He was silversmithing even though he used only the materials available to him at the time. He used all the traditional silversmithing techniques. He encourages me to continue to strive to be unique but cautious not to give away my secrets. He knows that there are imitators out there that will run with your ideas any chance they get. He is always trying to guide me with a gentle manner as to not upset me, because he knows that I am a Taurus, sensitive yet very stubborn. I have to stop and remember that he has more experience than me in the world and I am fortunate to share in his knowledge.
Thanks dad for giving me the freedom to be creative and the power of self confidence, for this I LOVE you,
xo
