New Line

I have been busy in Our Treehouse Studio creating a new line. I call it " Black Classic" for a lack of a better title. I can't design, create, organize my store, photograph my pieces, network... something has to give. So if anyone has a suggestion for a better title for my newest line, (see pics and go to the Etsy store to see more) I would LOVE some ideas, I feel a give-away coming on... I came upon this design somewhat by accident, I dipped a piece in the oxidation solution for too long and it came out pitch black, I instantly LOVED it, ask anyone who knows and loves me, what my favorite color is and the answer would be BLACK, so when I saw the piece and combined it with silver and copper I was giddy. So the question is are there really accidents??? or meant to be??? I ask myself that question often, it goes deep for me. ( H xo )

Summer cleaning

I have been busy cleaning my little Etsy store, rearranging, selecting items for the " Christmas in July " sale and learning how to take better photos. I have my work cut out for me. In between all that I have been creating new pieces. Some new mixed metal bangles for fun, and putting my new bead making know how to use.

Beads

I spent the last week attending an amazing workshop at a beautiful west coast location. I was fortunate enough to have the freedom to wander in and out of other very interesting workshops that were offered.
I brought my camera and took pics of some of the gorgeous views.

Our Treehouse Designs sign

For my birthday my lovely sister in law had this sign made for me. She assembled the board, commissioned the sign to be made and I finished it.
Doesn't it look perfect hanging outside my studio.

Waves

I was encouraged and inspired by my parents to create more pendants with semi precious stones. I purchased this cab from Etsy and set it aside until now. When I bought it I could see waves and a sunset in it and had an idea of a design that I wanted to create. The stone is a Crazy Lace Agate. I have not worked with a square cab before and it presented it's challenge in the corners. I decided to create a small window on the back of the piece because I felt that the stone was pretty on both sides, then I completed it with a bail that I stamped with my signature 2 leaves.

Flower Stone ( Chrysanthemum stone)

I was asked by a friend if I could make a pendant with a Flower Stone cabochon that she had for some time. I gladly took on yet another challenge.I am pleased with the way it turned out but more importantly she was thrilled. I added a handmade cord so that she could enjoy it right away, but the bail is made so that a leather or chain can also compliment it.
Chrysanthemum stone is said to contain an energy that forges through obstacles to joy, love and abundance in your life. It creates a sense of balance between physical and spiritual and encourages love and joy. The flowering pattern represents the burst of energy that is love, joy and abundance.
